From where to get these classes? where can I find the jars contain these classes? If getting jars required installing specific IBM product, could you please point out what is that product? (provide link to download page will be really great).

Thx!

This classes are only available with IMS V11.
So in order to use this class, you need IMS V11.
In addition these classes are implemented for the IMS Open Database feature, which requires additional setup in IMS. So the IMS Common Service Layer and IMS Open Database Manager need to be configured. IMS Connect needs to be set up to connect to the Open Database Manager.
Without the Open Database Manager, those classes are useless.

Hope that helps.

Thank you gaebler for the detailed explanation,
my problem is that I am not able to find a link that help me downloading IMS 11.

I am preparing to develop java application, and need to use IMS 11, IMS connect, IMS database .. etc, it seems what you post is exactly what I must have installed in my environment.

So, if you don't mind, could you please tell me where should I go to download IMS 11, IMS Open Database Manager, and IMS connect?

Thank you again,

IMS is a lisenced product from IBM. It's not available for download. You can ask IBM for an access to an IMS system. There are several solutions around which helps people who are developing application to get access to an IMS system.
A good contact point is Elizabeth Ann Sheridian in the IMS laboratory in SVL.

Ok, now I have access to IMS system, I am able to run sample java application to connec to IMS database (DL/I and JDBC calls).

My problem now is that I am not able to find any product in IBM website that would help me to connect to IMS Open Database and create/remove database schemas, or add/remove tables (segments?) .. etc

Could you please clarify this to me? Is there a visual editor like MySQL Query Browser or SQL Server Management Studio for IMS Open Database?

thx!
